At Buro247 Middle East, we are committed to showcasing and celebrating the extraordinary talent in the Arab world. With our column, #BuroSpotlights, we bring you stories of pioneering artists, innovative designers, tech trailblazers, cinematic visionaries, sports stars, and more.
This week, #BuroSpotlights Palestinian-American illustrator Dina Sami.
Based in Dubai, Sami is a digital artist and the Creative Director of the Media Agency We Are Seven Minutes. Born and raised in the UAE, Sami’s work is often inspired by the country’s diverse culture and stunning landscapes.
Known for her thought-provoking illustrations that weave interesting narrations, Sami has collaborated with major regional brands on a diverse range of campaigns. While you may not have heard of her, if you live in Dubai, you have most probably seen her work, for she has been the creative force behind regional campaigns for the likes of Sephora, New Balance, Foreo, Chupa Chups, Pottery Barn, among others.
Sami is also the visionary architect behind the RTA parking meter stickers that highlight the diversity of the UAE.
Sami’s signature style comprises a cluster of doodles, either in a vibrant color palette or in black-and-white, that is both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking.
