Hamza Lafrouji

Hamza Lafrouji, known across social media by his handle ‘Psycho Moustache,’ hails from Casablanca, Morocco. Having earned a reputation for his creative and thought-provoking editorial photography, Lafrouji believes he was destined to be behind the lens of a camera. His love for photography was inherited from his uncle, and he quickly realized that capturing moments through his lens was his true passion.

Growing up in the vibrant neighborhoods of Sidi Moumen and Derb Sultan, Lafrouji was inspired by the raw beauty and simple realities of street life. The diverse expressions reflected in people’s faces and the dynamic energy of the streets fueled his desire to document these moments. His career began as a street photographer, capturing candid shots that told compelling stories of everyday life in Casablanca. However, as he honed his craft, Lafrouji observed that people were often apprehensive about being photographed. To mitigate this, he shifted his focus to working with models, allowing him to explore his creativity without the risk of unsettling his subjects.
