This week, #BuroSpotlights Lebanese artist Yasmina Keyrouz. A graduate of the Lebanese American University (LAU) with a degree in Fashion Design, Keyrouz is making waves in the digital realm with her vibrant art. It was during the lockdown in 2020 when she began digitizing her hand-drawn sketches, sharing them to a private Instagram account intended for friends and family. Little did she know that her artistic journey was about to take an incredible turn. Quickly gaining traction on Instagram, Keyrouz’s work translated into collaborations, landing her art on postcards, tote bags, phone cases, posters, and more.
Keyrouz draws inspiration from her deep connection to Lebanon, Beirut, and the rich history and culture of the country. It’s the mundane everyday moments that fuel her creativity. Bathed in vibrant hues, Keyrouz chooses to paint a positive picture of Lebanon, emphasizing the unwavering love its citizens hold for the nation. Her skillful creations deliver powerful messages through eccentric digital art. Her work also touches on subjects like women’s empowerment, travel, cinema, and fashion as she strives to bring smiles and a sense of joy to her audience.
With her work, Yasmina Keyrouz transports us to a colorful world flooded with creativity and positivity. Make sure to visit Keyrouz’s Instagram page to explore her work.
