Apple has just announced the launch of a brand new arts-focused festival in the Middle East this month...

Whilst Apple is famed for its phones, watches and computers, the tech giant is also known for supporting and encouraging learning and education. Case in point: this month, Apple Middle East is launching The Big Draw Festival that will run in store throughout the month of October for the very first time.

The festival will focus on sketching on the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and will offer free sessions and seminars to drawing enthusiasts of all ages and capabilities. The sessions are being led by some of the region’s most talented artists giving you a chance to meet them first-hand and learn from a professional directly. Highlights on the schedule include a drawing characters in motions session with Sam Nassour on October 6 and an Emirati pop culture drawing class with Aysha Al Hemrani on October 13.

Speaking of her involvement in the festival, Aysha (whose work is pictured above) commented, “It’s very exciting to be participating in the Today at Apple platform and to share my passion and experience with likeminded individuals. The creative community in the UAE is growing and it’s important for me as an Emirati artist to bring something new to the table. Art is a universal language and it is through my work that I am able to visually showcase my nation and culture with the rest of the world.”

The Big Draw Festival will take place at Apple The Dubai Mall throughout the month of October. For more information, click here
