Finding the one scent that really resonates with you is sometimes a difficult, and endless, journey. Oftentimes, we end up with a wardrobe of fragrances whose notes speak to our different moods and occasions. And high street giant H&M has taken a similar approach with its new fragrance collection which has a total of 25 scents on offer.
Created in collaboration with Olivier Pescheux (who has worked on scents for Diptyque, Lanvin and Yves Saint Laurent) and Nisrine Grillié (a name to watch) of famed fragrance house Givaudan, the scents are divided into three categories: The Singles, The Reveries and The Essences.
The Singles, as you might well guess, are 10 scents based around one main note, like chocolate or vanilla, whilst The Reveries’ 10 perfumes feature a combination of notes designed to evoke a feeling from the wearer. Finally, The Essences are designed around a key ingredient like sandalwood or patchouli. These are available in an Eau de Parfum or in a handbag-friendly roll-on. Each is housed in a different glass bottle design.
In a release, Pescheux said of the creations, “We focused a lot on high quality ingredients, from the single note fragrances to the contemporary blends and the more nuanced perfumes that really highlight the origin of the key ingredient.”
Speaking with Vogue UK, Sarah Wallander, the Concept Designer for H&M Beauty, said, “We did not want to narrow it down to a specific customer, occasion, style or taste. The fragrances are targeting different tastes, and all the ingredients are of high quality.”
The H&M fragrance collection will launch in all H&M Beauty store from August 16.
