It’s been 240 years since the Birkenstock brand was born and whilst it always focused on creating footwear, the shoe brand is discovering its hero material even further.
The cork oak (the same tree from which the Birkenstock footbeds come from) carries a plethora of benefits that aren’t only good for the comfort of your feet, but for your skin too.
Hence, leading to Birkenstock’s interest in the beauty industry. The German shoe manufacturer is tapping into the industry by launching its very own skincare line.
From feet to face, the new all-natural line features suberin (a waxy film that creates a barrier on plants and gives the cork elasticity) found in the cork oak extract, gives a possible smoothing effect on the surface of the skin.
As to what you can expect from the debut collection, Birkenstock Natural Skincare will consist of nine products that range from face and body products, scrubs, eye cream, face mist, cleansers and more.
Stay tuned as the products are set to drop later this season.
