Ouai’s newest product launch is, um, unexpected

We didn't see this one coming
Your favourite haircare brand has just released a rather unconventional new product but we're totally here for it...

Ouai haircare is a favourite of celebrities across the globe and with good reason — its easy to use, high performance products deliver salon-worthy (not to mention red carpet worthy) results to those of us at home. Created by hair guru to the stars, Jen Atkin, the brand has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2016 and now, it’s expanding its range —although somewhat unconventionally.

Overnight, the brand announced on Instagram that it was releasing a line of animal shampoo. No, you read that right. Now your favourite four-legged friend can have just as good of a mane as you.

Formulated with pet-safe ingredients (its free from parabens, sulfates and phthalates) the shampoo can be used on all pets of all sizes. According to the brand’s website, it is made with “Apple cider vinegar which contains natural antibacterial properties to help balance pH levels and keep stench at bay; aloe leaf juice to soothe itchy, dry skin; and tamarind seed extract, the natural equivalent of hyaluronic acid for ultra-hydration and a velvety moisture barrier to keep them hydrated.” Oh, and it has a “sheer and airy floral fragrance full of notes of Italian lemon, Turkish rose, jasmine sambac, iris, lily and white musk.”

And, in addition to making your pet’s fur look front cover ready, 15 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of the products will go to the Vanderpump Dog Foundation, a non-profit charity that helps to give dogs around the world a better life.

Ouai’s pet shampoo is limited edition but you can sign up to receive notifications when it’s available to shop.
