Now, the fashion and beauty industries are, more so than ever, supporting diversity and inclusivity by casting a host of different models (whether it’s their body types, cultural backgrounds or age) for shows and campaigns. Earlier this year, L’Oréal Paris tapped hijabi model and beauty influencer Amena Khan to front its new hair campaign, and Revlon booked Ashley Graham as its newest brand ambassador, making her the first curvy model to claim the title.
Now, Kate Spade is set to launch a new fragrance and for its campaign, the label tapped three different actresses whose ages span nearly four decades.
Marking her first beauty campaign, Laura Dern (age 51) perfectly captured the spirit of the fragrance by creating a love letter to herself. “I think if I really could write this love letter to myself it’d be very cut and dry: You got this, Dern,” she explained in the monochrome campaign (above).
Injected with youthful and floral ingredients including peony, rose and lotus flower-infused scents, the fragrance, titled In Full Bloom, is also fronted by Sasheer Zamata (age 31) and Tavi Gevinson (age 21).
