What do Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington-Burns all have in common? Well, besides being ridiculously beautiful and some of the most famous supermodels of all time, they were also all close friends and clients of legendary makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin.
Now, those friendships and Kevin’s meteoric rise to the top of his field are being explored in a new documentary called Larger Than Life: Kevyn Aucoin Story. The film features one-on-one interviews with the aforementioned stars as well as designers, magazine editors and more and it’s evident from their monologues just how much Kevyn (who passed away in 2002) was respected, but also loved.
Aucoin was the man responsible for the now-infamous ’90s skinny eyebrows and in a newly released trailer for the film, Kate Moss recalls how he created the look saying, “He had like a dentist chair and he would lie me down and pin me and then pluck out all of my eyebrows!” Naomi Campbell also revealed she would happily wait in line to have Kevyn work his magic. “There was always a line, but I am not going to go anywhere else,” she said.
In what looks set to be a fascinating insight into one of beauty’s most iconic names, Larger Than Life: The Kevyn Aucoin Story will be available to watch globally from July 31.
