Ludovic de Saint Sernin set to bring a fresh vision to Gaultier’s iconic legacy.
Ludovic de Saint Sernin
Ludovic De Saint Sernin will create a one-off collection for Jean Paul Gaultier, set to debut during Paris Couture Week from January 27 to 30.

Jean Paul Gaultier has tapped Parisian designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin as the next guest designer to continue his legacy at the iconic fashion house that bears his name. Since retiring from the runway in 2020, Gaultier has opened the doors of his fashion house to a lineup of innovative designers, inviting them to reinterprate his vision. De Saint Sernin joins an illustrious lineup as the eighth guest couturier at Gaultier, following the likes of Nicolas Di Felice, Simone Rocha, Julien Dossena, Haider Ackermann, Olivier Rousteing, Glenn Martens, and Chitose Abe.

Known for his bold designs—think low-slung pants with corset lacing—de Saint Sernin shares Gaultier’s passion for challenging norms around body positivity and gender fluidity. His journey began at the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris, and after honing his craft at Dior and Balmain, he launched his eponymous label in 2017. De Saint Sernin’s work, which often blurs the lines between menswear and womenswear, celebrates diverse expressions of identity and desire, making him a fitting choice for Gaultier’s legacy of pushing boundaries. With de Saint Sernin at the helm, this upcoming collection promises to be a vibrant celebration of creativity and inclusivity, embodying the spirit that has defined Gaultier’s illustrious career for over 50 years.
