Prada
On day one of Milan Fashion Week, Miuccia Prada kicked things off in the most spectacular way: delivering a collection made by a woman, for women. The Spring/Summer 2020 show took place in a newly ceramic-tiled Deposito in Milan’s Fondazione Prada, and the collection channelled simplicity. There were finer finishings and refined details that dominated the collection as a vintage appeal echoed throughout the silhouettes. This seasonal range featured outfits made of knitted pencil skirts, padded blazers, woven cotton shift dresses, ribbed knitted polo shirts and a new range of wishlist-worthy accessories.
Alberta Ferretti
It was safari-meets-resort wear at the Alberta Ferretti show as the brand shifted away from its usual romantic aesthetic with an overflow of downs and focused on daywear for today’s dynamic woman. Showcasing a younger, playful and cool-girl side to the brand, the collection oozed with soft tailoring, denim, boho-separates and fun prints — all complete with a ’70s-inspired colour palette.
N°21
A play on prints and monochrome ensembles dominated the N°21 co-ed runway. The collection remained refined and relaxed with soft structures and sharp tailoring, and delivered a new take on sleeves.
Jil Sander
Luke and Lucie Meier delivered perhaps, one of their best collections for Jil Sander yet. For their take on Spring/Summer dressing, the design duo explored natural raffia detailing, sharp tailoring (a key component of the brand’s DNA), minimalism and a neutral colour palette complimented by playful prints.
