It looks like Alexander Wang is staying put in the United States for his latest 2020 show, as it’s set to take place in New York this weekend. And whilst the designer is known for incorporating a public audience in his shows, there’s bound to be a plethora of eyes watching models strut rinkside — well, the rink is officially closed for the season but will be open for this occasion.
Marking the first time an al fresco set-up will take place at the Rockefeller Centre, there’s about to be 1,000 fans dotted around the upper level of the city’s iconic landmark and if you’re in New York, it’s the best place to sit and see the show in a very controlled manner on the lower level.
According to WWD, a spokesman for the designer said: “As an American brand that is rooted in New York, Rockefeller Centre represented the energy and the epicentre of New York City. We thought of this as a public moment as well so that anyone who comes to see the show will also experience something beyond seeing it from the upper plaza.”
Whilst no further details have been revealed on what to expect, the show is taking place on May 31, 2019 in New York City.
