Following the departure of long-time Design Director Francesca Amfitheatrof last year, American fine jewellery brand Tiffany & Co. revealed that it had appointed Reed Krakoff as its new Chief Artistic Officer. Now, the fashion designer’s highly anticipated debut collection for the brand has been revealed.
Called Paper Flowers, the collection is made up of both high and fine jewellery pieces that were inspired by, you guessed it, flowers. According to the brand, the collection “reflects a perfect balance of refined femininity and industrial modernity” and was “inspired by the idea of flower petals, cut from paper and delicately pinned together.”
As such, the pieces are delicate but there’s an alluring everyday-ness about them, which Krakoff explains was the whole point of the collection. “Paper Flowers is about stripping away all of the rules associated with fine jewellery. Luxury shouldn’t always mean formality, so we used precious stones and the finest materials, but in a way that you can live with every day.”
The precious stones the designer is referring to include tanzanite and yellow diamonds which sit harmoniously alongside brilliant diamonds.
Whilst each of the pieces are beautiful, there’s undoubtedly one hero piece: a high jewellery bib necklace made with over 68 carats of round and pear-shaped diamonds that are effortlessly connected to one another.
