Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest watchmaker in continuous operation, continues its 270th anniversary year with landmark announcements that blend artistry, innovation, and heritage.
Concours d’Élégance for timepieces
In partnership with Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, the Maison has unveiled the inaugural Concours d’Élégance for Timepieces. Scheduled for November 2026 in Geneva, this pioneering competition will celebrate Vacheron Constantin wristwatches and pocket watches made before 1999. Judged by an international panel of experts, including Aurel Bacs and Christian Selmoni, the event will honor genuineness, design, condition, and provenance, shining a spotlight on collectors who preserve the brand’s legacy.
La Quête du Temps: A Mechanical Masterpiece
At the heart of Vacheron Constantin’s creative achievements stands La Quête du Temps, an extraordinary astronomical clock that unites horology, decorative arts, and automatons in a spectacle of mechanical poetry.
Conceived with artisans, engineers, automatier François Junod, and the Louvre, the clock will be the centerpiece of the museum’s Mécaniques d’Art exhibition in Paris (September–November 2025). With 6,293 components, 23 complications, and 15 patent applications, it elevates automata to a horological complication while evoking the timeless bond between mankind and the cosmos.
Métiers d’Art: Tribute to the Quest of Time
Inspired by this masterpiece, the Maison also launched the Métiers d’Art – Tribute to the Quest of Time. Limited to just 20 pieces, this double-sided wristwatch houses the new Calibre 3670, featuring four patent-pending innovations, dual retrograde time displays, a six-day power reserve, and a 3D moon phase accurate for millennia. Its celestial dials recreate Geneva’s night sky on 17 September 1755, the day the Maison was founded.
Through these bold creations and cultural initiatives, Vacheron Constantin reaffirms its devotion to technical mastery, artistic crafts, and the eternal human fascination with time.
