SOTHEBY’S BRINGS $150 MILLION ARTWORKS TO ABU DHABI FOR FIRST-EVER REGIONAL SHOWCASE

Sotheby’s is bringing a $150 million lineup of masterpieces to Abu Dhabi, marking its most valuable exhibition ever staged in the region. On view October 1–2 at the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation, the show unites works by Van Gogh, Kahlo, Gauguin, Munch, Magritte, and Pissarro—several of which haven’t been seen publicly in over half a century. Highlights include Frida Kahlo’s El sueño (La cama), carrying the highest valuation ever placed on her work, and Van Gogh’s rare still life Romans Parisiens (Les Livres jaunes). After Abu Dhabi, the collection will head to London and Paris before Sotheby’s November auctions in New York.
