BALENCIAGA X PUMA: SHOULD LUXURY SNEAKERS LOOKS LIKE THEY’VE BEEN PUT THROUGH FASHION BOOTCAMPS?! (NO).

NO.NO.NO
Distressed but not-so-very well dressed!

In case you missed it, luxury brands have cracked the code—team up with sportswear labels, and suddenly, you’re “down with the people” (but still charging four figures). Enter Balenciaga’s latest conquest: Puma.

After a headline-grabbing split with adidas, Balenciaga has dabbled in unexpected partnerships (Under Armour, anyone?), and now, for Winter 2025, it’s heading to Germany to give Puma a high-fashion overhaul.

At Balenciaga’s Winter 2025 show, the Balenciaga x Puma collab debuted, drawing inspo from soccer and motorsports. The centerpiece? A single shoe: the Puma Speedcat, now sporting a “pre-destroyed” suede upper and a deconstructed interior for that straight-out-of-the-box worn-in feel—because nothing screams luxury like looking like you’ve been through a few seasons of Sunday league.

As for apparel, expect elevated loungewear: faded nylon tracksuits, Balenciaga-lion-stamped sweats, a shearling tracksuit jacket (because, why not?), and even a bathrobe—just in case your pre-game ritual involves lounging in couture. Accessories? Co-branded hats, socks, gloves, and even a shopper bag, perfect for carrying your existential crisis over sneaker pricing.

Speaking of which, no official price tags have dropped, but given Balenciaga’s history, expect the Ultrasoft Speedcat to cost about as much as a secondhand car. The collection will hit Balenciaga stores and online later in 2025. Stay tuned—and maybe start saving now.
