FROM A CHAT-GPT PERSPECTIVE: CAN THE FASHION INDUSTRY BE TRANSFORMED BY EMERGING AI TOOLS?

ChatGPT the advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) power chatbot has taken the world by storm recently.

Let’s start by introducing the AI renaissance star. ChatGPT refers to generative pre-trained architecture. It is an open AI trained on a massive amount of data on the internet. It is an engine that uses machine learning to automate text. What makes it so special and differentiates it then other AI platforms , Siri and Alexa for example, is the more detailed and comprehensive answers that it generates and the conversational aspect. The existence of paragraphs is not anymore an evidence of human thoughts. While ChatGPT can generates responses that are empathetic compared to previous AI platforms, it lacks of emotional intelligence.

In the Fashion Industry, ChatGPT has potential in marketing, customer service creative storytelling , content creation and product descriptions. In addition to the added advantage that ChatGPT has from the brands’ perspective, it has also an added advantage from the end user and customers’ side. Anyone can use this open AI to have more detailed and personalized fashion recommendations. On another side, ChatGPT can help a new brand get established from scratch from both marketing and creative perspective. If you are starting your own clothing brand, it can help you name your brand, find competitors, generate creative ideas for logo and products design and finally create content for advertising and social media. As of now, one of the limitations is that ChatGPT does not generate visual design. In order to have visual designs other AI platforms exit.
