The Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s latest ode to horological brilliance, uniting cutting-edge mechanics with sublime artistry. At its heart beats the Calibre 179, featuring the Maison’s fastest-ever multi-axis Gyrotourbillon: 123 components in a hypnotic ballet, with the inner cage completing a full rotation in just 16 seconds.
Coupled with the Duoface complication, this marvel displays two distinct time zones across its swivelling case, complete with a 24-hour indicator on the reverse dial. Precision is elevated by a hemispherical balance spring, breathing like a heart at the core of the Gyrotourbillon.
Beyond its mechanical genius, the timepiece is a showcase of over 180 artisanal skills. Deep blue lacquer, hand-applied against a white gold case, creates a striking contrast, while painstaking beveling demands 14 hours for the tourbillon cage alone. Skeletonization reveals the calibre’s inner poetry, each bridge meticulously shaped and finished for both lightness and elegance.
Inspired by Art Deco design, each face tells its own story: one a canvas of decorative mastery, the other a testament to technical ingenuity.
