Jaeger-LeCoultre is taking the passage of time to new artistic heights with a captivating collaboration under its Made of Makers program. The Swiss luxury watchmaker has partnered with Emirati designer Khalid Shafar to create an exclusive art installation that beautifully blends celestial movements with the rhythms of Ramadan.
Titled Crescent to Crescent, this stunning six-meter-wide installation features 29 intricately crafted moons, each representing a day in the lunar cycle. The installation immerses viewers in a dynamic play of light and color, capturing the moon’s daily evolution while celebrating the spiritual significance of time. The dual-viewing experience invites reflection on time’s passage, beautifully echoing Jaeger-LeCoultre’s legacy of lunar-inspired horology.
Shafar, renowned for his fusion of Emirati cultural heritage and contemporary design, has crafted an installation that intertwines sacred timekeeping with fine craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from the moon’s celestial rhythms, his work evokes the contemplative practice of tracking time during Ramadan.
His collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre reaffirms the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of classical arts, while honoring both tradition and transformation.“Crescent to Crescent” will be unveiled on February 28 at The Dubai Mall Grand Atrium, where it will remain throughout Ramadan. This unique collaboration highlights the fusion of artistry, design, and time, offering a new perspective on the significance of time in our lives.]
