A SPARKLING WIN: JAMEEL MOHAMMED TAKES HOME TIFFANY & CO. X CFDA AWARD.

Jameel Mohammed

Tiffany & Co. and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) have named Jameel Mohammed the winner of the inaugural Tiffany & Co. x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award. The honor, which recognizes exceptional American jewelry designers committed to inclusivity, includes a $50,000 grant and a one-year paid fellowship at Tiffany & Co.’s design department.

The announcement was celebrated at a cocktail reception at Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue flagship, The Landmark, with industry leaders in attendance, including selection committee members Bethann Hardison, Jason Wu, and Joan Smalls. Tiffany & Co.’s Diversity VP Stéphanie Oueda-Cruz presented the award alongside CFDA CEO Steven Kolb and Tiffany CMO Andrea Davey.

The program, running from October 2024 to January 2025, challenged 10 participants to create designs inspired by Tiffany’s heritage. Over four months, the designers received mentorship, tours of Tiffany’s facilities, and lectures on topics like sustainability, brand identity, and gemstones.

Part of Tiffany’s Atrium and CFDA’s Impact initiatives, the award reflects a shared commitment to fostering innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in design. Mohammed’s win highlights the bright future of American jewelry design.
