Weaving together elements from her professional journey with precious minerals, metals, and shells, as well as her personal exploration into the history of her homeland, NURNEI stands as the embodiment of all things Noor. Rooted in her love for science, nature, and the environment, and deeply connected to her Palestinian identity and ancient history, NURNEI is a reflection of Noor’s diverse inspirations.
Noor’s roots trace back to London, yet her heart is deeply intertwined with her Palestinian heritage. Early years spent in East Jerusalem cultivated a profound connection to her homeland, etched in cherished memories. Later in her childhood, residing opposite Epping Forest in London, Noor’s fascination with nature burgeoned, finding expression in her artistic pursuits, particularly in the realms of art and photography. Her lens captured the intricate details and textures inherent in nature’s design.
Academically driven, Noor’s keen interest in the natural sciences led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Geology. In her undergraduate studies, she delved into the captivating world of precious stones through courses in Mineralogy, exploring crystal structures and mineral properties. This marked Noor’s initial venture into the realm of precious stones, metals, and jewelry. Furthering her scientific education, she earned a Master’s degree in Geochemistry, shifting her focus to the impact of climate change on marine bivalves.
Embarking on a new chapter in her life in Greece, driven by her scientific aspirations, Noor serendipitously stumbled upon an artisanal jewelry workshop. Here, she immersed herself in the art and craftsmanship of jewelry making. This encounter would ultimately shape her unique journey into the world of jewelry.
