WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ROSETTE TREND AND WHY IS IT EVERYWHERE?

Not so long ago, bows were ruling the fashion world, so much so that every scroll led us to a different variation of the coquette trend. Now, only a month into 2024, the adorable trend has fizzled out of the zeitgeist, only to be replaced by a different motif – the rosette. For those of us who have been paying attention, the rosette’s ascension to popularity comes as no surprise, for the floral motif has been lurking on the fashion radar for a while now. In fact, the rose has already made its way into the chicest girls’ wardrobe, courtesy of Magda Butrym and the fashion crowd’s obsession with her 3D rose-adorned pieces. 

While the rosette is yet to experience a major moment of fame, it won’t be long before the motif blooms into our wardrobes. A favorite on both the runway and the red carpet, the rosette trend is destined to dominate 2024. While designers like Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Giorgio Armani, and David Koma, among others, heavily featured the motif in their Spring/Summer 2024 collection, celebrities like Margot Robbie, Meghann Fahy, and Jennifer Lopez flaunted 3D rose-embellished gowns on the red carpet. In fact, JLo seems to be the biggest fan girl of the rosette trend, having worn the rose-adorned looks several times over the past month alone.
