Last year, Phoebe Philo announced her shock departure from Céline after 10 years at the head of the label. And although the announcement of Hedi Slimane as her replacement was met with excitement, many Philophiles (what Philo’s fans became known as during her tenure) were saddened that her creations would no longer be available.
However they need not worry as Laila Tokio, a cool vintage store in Tokyo, Japan, have managed to get their hands on several pieces from Philo’s first collections for the brand and have put them up for sale.
There are 35 pieces on sale in total, coming from her Resort 2010 and Spring/Summer 2010 collections. Speaking to Vogue US about the pieces, a representative for the store explained, “Her collections had a great balance between reality and aspiration, and they were not typical boring clothes. We feel a big loss of her designs in the current fashion industry so we created this edit for guests to experience her impact once more.”
Pieces include a pair of high-waisted linen trousers, a sculptural khaki jacket and a black leather dress modelled by Constance Jablonski in the 2010 show. The store has also shared a handful of images on its Instagram page of the pieces available.
The Phoebe Philo for Céline edit is now available at Laila Tokio.
