It looks like Pharrell Williams is launching a new collection with Chanel

After this Insta-teaser...
Singing legend Pharrell Williams has had a long-standing association with Chanel. And now that deep bond is flourishing in a new collaboration...

After a 15-second tease on Instagram, it’s clear that Pharrell Williams, the hitmaker behind Happy is collaborating with Chanel on a new collection.

Harking back to 2016, when the singing legend was first associated with the luxury French fashion house via a sneaker project, the Chanel-Williams capsule collection is going to land very soon.

The video explores an ‘after dark’ scenario of men and women lounging (literally) around in rainbow-coloured ensembles, while regularly cutting to an ominous Williams who appears to have a glowing orb in his mouth – kind of weird and creepy but that’s offset with another scene set in an apartment with a TV showing a black & white Gabrielle Coco Chanel talking about elegance.

Williams had a firm friendship with the late and great Karl Lagerfeld, the brand’s Creative Director of 36 years. And his history with Chanel is pretty solid and consistent, with launching the world’s most expensive sneakers, fronting the Gabrielle bag campaign, and he walking the runway for Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2019 collection. And long may it continue.

We still don’t know when the collection will land but we’re sure we’ll find out via Williams’ Instagram. Stay tuned!
