Fashion Month may be over but the month of May usually provides us with a slew of fashion events, with a strong focus on coveted Cruise collections. However this year, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the schedule may seem less busy with many highly anticipated shows pushing the pause button — or cancelling them all together.

Gucci just announced that they’ll be cancelling their upcoming Cruise ’21 collection show slated for May 18 in San Francisco. According to WWD, the Italian house said that in light of “the ongoing uncertainty prompted by the coronavirus outbreak, as a precautionary measure”, the Cruise’ 21 show is now cancelled.

“A decision on the new timing and location of the show will be announced at a later date, once the situation becomes clearer. At this time, our thoughts are with all of those affected around the world,” the company said.

The news follows Watches & Wonders’ cancelled event in April.
