One of the most upcoming (and sought after) cultural excursions is coming to the Middle East this November, and we couldn’t be more excited. Taking you on a fashion journey through time is Dior‘s exhibition titled Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, opening to the public from November 2021 to March 2022 in Msheireb Downtown Doha, Qatar.
Marking the first time a retrospective as big as this is taking place in the region, Dior and Qatar Museums will launch the exhibition at the design and innovation hub, M7, and will be adapted specifically for the country – meaning, you’ll come across a selection of achingly cool pieces making their public debut.
Also, you can expect to find a new scenographic narrative – one that is a reinvented retrospective curated by Olivier Gabet, Director of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Celebrating more than 70 years of creative passion, you’ll discover stories from the emblematic 30 Avenue Montaigne address to the Haute Couture designs of the past and present including the famous Bar suit that launched the New Look in 1947.
Perpetuating the visionary spirit of Christian Dior, there will be a number of icons on display (think reinterpreted Lady Dior bags) and a selection of works and decorative objects from the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs itself.
This means one definite thing: you can head over during the winter holidays and dive into the exhibition without cramming it in. The exhibition will run from November 2021 to March 2022.
