The Fashion Trust Arabia Awards are postponed

Instead of taking place next month, the Fashion Trust Arabia Awards will be postponed to November due to ongoing travel restrictions from COVID-19...

Earlier this month, Fashion Trust Arabia announced 24 emerging designers from across the Middle East and North Africa as finalists set to take part in its latest edition – one that continues to celebrate emerging design talent in the region.

Originally scheduled to take place next month in Qatar, the Fashion Trust Arabia Awards have just been postponed due to the ongoing travel restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic and instead, will take place in November.

This edition, hopes were that the event would be a hybrid of a physical and digital event with a 3D virtual reality experience, but due to the restrictions, organisers behind the awards ceremony have decided to push the date to ensure the event can be 100 per cent live (fingers crossed!).

According to WWD, Tania Fares, co-chair of FTA, said: “With the vaccine rolling out, we’ll hopefully be able to host the live event in November. The whole point is to connect people, and we want the designers to have as much exposure as possible to the industry. They get so much out of it.”
