French brand Maison Kitsuné has just announced that is has hired ex-Celine designer Yuni Ahn as its new Creative Director.
According to Business of Fashion, the French designer will present her first collection in January 2019 at Paris Fashion Week. At Maison Kitsuné she will be in charge of both men’s and women’s collections which “drives 90 per cent of revenue” for the French brand.
Talking to BoF about her upcoming debut, Ahn said of the pieces, “I am trying to focus on products that perform well with the right codes so that you feel a particular vibe that feels modern.”
Ahn has an impressive CV, not least thanks to her stint under Phoebe Philo at Celine where she was in charge of overseeing pre-collections and ready-to-wear. She has also previously worked at Stella McCartney, Chloé and Miu Miu, meaning she knows exactly what women want when it comes to their wardrobes.
Until then, find out which menswear designer will make not one, but two, debuts at Paris Fashion Week next month.
