There’s never a shortage of news surrounding Virgil Abloh. Whether announcing his new gig with Evian, launching is own namesake fine jewellery label or collaborating with Mr Porter on an exclusive collection, the designer is easily one of the busiest men in the biz. And today, he will present his second collection for Louis Vuitton since being named Men’s Artistic Director early last year.
There’s little known about what to expect from the upcoming collection, though he will undoubtedly be hoping to capitalise on the interest in his designs for the brand. Just this week it was revealed that his first designs for the brand were outselling those from the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collection by 30 per cent even before the products officially hit stores (so far the pieces have been sold via dedicated pop-ups) next month.
The invitation to the show was a bejewelled white glove with the details appearing beneath the phrase “There is only one.” As for what that means? We have no idea, but the show will take place at 530pm local time (GMT +4) today so there’s not long until we find out.
