Last evening, Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) celebrated its sixth annual FTA 2024 Prize in a night filled with glamour, creativity, and cultural collaboration at the breathtaking El Badi Palace in Marrakech, Morocco. The event was part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture, an initiative aimed at fostering deeper connections through artistic exchange between the two vibrant regions.
Crème de la crème of the fashion world, international celebrities, and renowned media personalities, all gathered to honour future fashion inspirations of the Middle East region. The evening, hosted by the renowned international actress Angela Bassett and Egyptian actor Ahmad Helmy, was attended by notable guests such as Alton Mason, Aya Nakamura, Balqees Fathi, Carla Bruni Sarkozy to mention a few.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the seven winners across a range of categories, chosen after a competitive showcase of talent at the Beldi Country Club. The finalists, 24 in total, competed for honours in categories including Ready-to-Wear, Eveningwear, Accessories, Jewellery, the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award, the Guest Country Award (in collaboration with Spain), and the newly introduced Fashion Tech Award.
Each winner was awarded a substantial cash prize between $100,000 and $200,000 and a one-year mentorship from FTA’s global network of fashion professionals and retail partners. Their collections will not only benefit from expert advice on business growth and sustainability, but also secure a coveted spot in the retail giants Harrods internationally and Ounass within the MENA region.
