There’s been a slew of Spring/Summer ’18 campaigns released lately however Jonathan Anderson is planning on taking a distinctly different approach for his eponymous brand’s newest ad campaign.
Instead of enlisting a top photographer and model, the designer is instead asking the public to submit their own pictures as part of a wider initiative called ‘Your picture/Our future.’ The idea is that the brand will be able to promote future image-makers, and their images, according to WWD, helping to foster upcoming talent. He told the site, “I felt as if we were given a chance. We were all young, new and coming through together, particularly when we launched our campaigns. It felt right to give somebody else that opportunity. Fundamentally, it is about talent giving a chance to talent — this is something I really believe in.”
The brand is accepting submissions from those aged 18-30 and the winning images will be chosen by Anderson, as well as a panel of leading fashion figures.
The selected images will be featured online, in print publications and public spaces and the submissions will reportedly be used as part of a show the designer plans to curate in London later this year.
