FENDI once again turns craftsmanship into contemporary art at ApritiModa 2025, Italy’s annual celebration of creative excellence. Inside the newly opened Palazzo FENDI Milano on Via Montenapoleone, guests were welcomed into the maison’s atelier to experience Rock the Craft 2.0, a vivid meeting of artistry and tradition.
At the heart of this edition stands artist Edoardo Piermattei, who reunited with FENDI’s master leather and fur artisans to reinterpret his iconic Artist Peekaboo bag.
Inspired by the ancient caves of Lascaux, Piermattei transforms the bag into a “portable cave”, a tactile world sculpted through playdough and gesture. The result is a poetic blend of innocence and sophistication, where the childlike joy of discovery meets the meticulous precision of Italian craftsmanship.
The collaboration extends to new Leather and Fur Peekaboo bags and a Fur Tablet, all available as made-to-order creations. Together, they redefine what it means to “rock the craft”: to honor heritage through play, texture, and imagination.
In an era of mass production, FENDI’s latest project reminds us that true luxury lies in the hands that shape it, and in the stories those hands dare to tell.
