In the recent past, European luxury brands have (finally) turned their attention to the Middle East, giving the region the recognition it deserves. From hosting fashion shows amidst the desert dunes of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and more to appointing regional celebrities as brand ambassadors, luxury brands have cast a spotlight on the Middle East. The latest to turn its attention east ward? Jean Paul Gaultier.
Jean Paul Gaultier has crowned Tunisian model Ameni Esseibi as its first MENA region brand ambassador. Esseibi-known as the Middle East and North Africa’s first curvy model–has been breaking stereotypes since the beginning of her career. Frequently spotted on the Paris Fashion Week runways, Esseibi has been an inspiration to many. A quick scroll through Esseibi’s Instagram reveals a close relationship with Jean Paul Gaultier.
Now, the model has a new role to play –that of the first MENA region brand ambassador and the first-ever Arab ambassador of Jean Paul Gaultier. In honor of her recent appointment, the Dubai-based model shared her debut Jean Paul Gaultier campaign on Instagram with her 200,000 followers. Highlighting the brand’s ‘Scandal’ fragrance, the 25-year-old is depicted in iconic JPG outfits that exude confidence. In the caption, she conveyed her excitement and gratitude for this groundbreaking opportunity, stating, “After three years of hard work, I’m super honored to announce that I’m the FIRST Ambassador for Jean Paul Gaultier in the MENA Region. Also, the FIRST Arab Ambassador Internationally. Thank you to all the teams regionally and internationally for making it happen. Blessed and Grateful to be part of the best family.”
