Men’s Paris Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter ’18

Farewell Kim Jones!
Marking a historic show for Louis Vuitton, Kim Jones unfolded his final collection for the maison, and there were a few surprises at the runway show...

Following Kim Jones’ announcement that he will be departing from his post at Louis Vuitton, the British fashion designer truly made an exit last night, as he took his final bow at Men’s Paris Fashion Week.

Sitting front row to showcase their support was the Beckham family and fellow designers Virgil Abloh, Olivier Rousteing and Humberto Leon, but it was who was on the runway that truly had the Palais-Royal audience in applause.

Marking the first time Jones included women in the model lineup, he could not have chosen a more iconic duo other than Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. Both dressed in monogrammed trench coats and hiking boots, the supermodels walked the finale of the show shortly before they walked hand-in-hand with Jones as he took his final bow.

On the menswear collection front, Jones took a different approach to autumnal dressing following last year’s phenomenal collaboration with Supreme. This year, the designer opted for more dark, rich and sophisticated menswear looks that packed tailored cuts, sleek silhouettes and oversized outerwear.

Whilst 52 looks unfolded on the runway, all eyes were on the new menswear accessories, hiking boots, leather goods, printed tights and unexpected shiny fabrics, that were also complemented in a neutral-dominated colour palette.
