Men’s London Fashion Week: Chalayan Fall/Winter ’18

Presented on day two
Deconstructed tailoring was at the core of Hussein Chalayan's new autumnal collection and we've got the details behind the collection...

Men’s London Fashion Week is off to a great start with Emirati designer  Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi showcasing his Fall/Winter ’18 collection on day one, and some seriously screenshot-worthy street style trends emerging.

On day two, it was Hussein Chalayan‘s autumnal collection that sparked talk in the industry. With a hidden message that touched on immigration and integration, the collection — which featured outerwear, sportswear and fine tailoring — brought the Turkish designer’s inspirations to life.

According to WWD, Chalayan explained that the collection symbolised an “imaginary journey beyond the centre of Paris and back again.” While looking at the Périphérique ring road in Paris, the city’s working-class suburbs and surrounding immigrant populations, that inspiration was transformed into his latest collection.

There were plenty of monochrome looks and graphic prints were seen on simple shirts, deconstructed jackets, cape-like cuts and oversized coats. Discover Chalayan’s Fall/Winter ’18 collection below now…
