Everyone in fashion knows Mansur Gavriel. Since launching its line of minimalist leather handbags six years ago (to almost instant thousand-people long waiting lists), the brand has expanded into footwear as well as ready to wear.
And now, it is setting its sights on menswear. Business of Fashion reports today that the brand is launching an 11-piece collection in its New York and LA stores, as well as on Mr Porter. According to the site, the collection will be made up of briefcases, totes, backpacks, wallets and cardholders — namely, all of the leather accessories needed by any stylish man.
“The leather goods are made in the Veneto region of Italy. They’re high-quality items with an accessible price point,” Floriana Gavriel, one half of the brand’s design duo, said of the collection.
Rachel Mansur added, “We’ve always envisioned a complete world, so men’s is something we always imagined and are only able to fully implement now.”
As expected, the menswear pieces will take their inspiration from the women’s pieces, reimagined with a dose of stylish masculinity and will be created by the same in-house team.
