Jil Sander has been announced as Pitti Uomo‘s next special guest for the upcoming edition set to take place in January.
The fashion house’s co-creative directors, Lucie and Luke Meier, are synonymous with minimalist maximalism and are currently giving fashion some serious soul — so you know it’s bound to be a good show.
They’ll be taking themselves off of the Paris Fashion Week schedule this season as the brand will shift its focus to the Italian city with a Fall 2020 menswear collection.
The city marks a particularly special place for the duo. “For us, showing in Florence is both an honour and a completion. We first met in Florence, and never imagined that we would be back here together showing at Pitti Uomo. This opportunity is a truly special one, and we look forward to contributing to the legacy of this city and Pitti Uomo.”
Also, the will mark the brand’s return to Florence since 2010 when Jil Sander was a special guest under the creative direction of Raf Simons.
Pitti Uomo is set to take place from January 7-10, 2020.
