From its humble beginnings to becoming a global platform, Les Benjamins has resonated with creatives and trendsetters worldwide, thanks to its unique ability to turn cultural narratives into wearable works of art. And now, with its debut at Dubai Fashion Week, the brand is cementing its place at the forefront of the region.
Last night, the Istanbul-born label took over Dubai Fashion Week with a runway that literally rolled out fresh designs atop handcrafted rugs. While it might have marked the brand’s debut on the Dubai Fashion Week runway, it’s hardly a stranger to the region. Les Benjamins has been cozying up to the UAE for six years, a relationship sealed by the recent opening of its flagship in The Dubai Mall. With creative director Bünyamin Aydin and head of womenswear Lamia Al Otaishan Aydin at the helm, the brand embraces a cross-continental perspective, which has been a part of its DNA since it appeared on Paris and Milan Fashion Week rosters.
Their latest collection, ‘Altaicana,’ draws from the Altai people’s bond with nature and myth. In a nod to ancient ways of life, the range was presented through a distinctly modern lens. The collection’s color palette reflects the breathtaking Altai landscape. Textures are rich and tactile, with luxurious fabrics layered in a way that speaks to the balance of strength and fluidity inherent in nature. You’ll find oversized silhouettes that command attention, yet there’s an undeniable fluidity in the movement.
We spotted familiar faces like Jullz Beck and Basil Alhadi on the runway, further amplifying the brand’s Adding a Turkish twist, the runway was layered with exquisite Cinar Rugs, known for rich silk and wool pieces that matched the collection’s earthy, layered vibe.
