Television’s biggest night out, the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, initially scheduled for September 2023, were postponed due to the SAG/AFTRA and WGA strikes. Following months of delay and anticipation, much-awaited Emmy trophies were finally handed out on January 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The red carpet was rolled out (yet again) as television’s biggest stars made glamorous entrances one behind the other.
While red and burgundy stood out as the winning hues of the night, soothing pastel greens and smooth, buttery yellows refused to be ignored. Daisy Jones and the Six co-stars Suki Waterhouse and Camila Morrone twinned in red gowns by Valentino and Versace, respectively, whereas Meghann Fahy and Beatrice Grannó matched in rose-embellished Armani Privé dresses. Selena Gomez picked a dense oxblood sequin gown by Oscar de La Renta. The bespoke dress accounts for 450,000 paillettes in shades of burgundy and 930 hours of hand embroidery. Aubrey Plaza, dressed in a pale yellow Loewe Spring/Summer 2024 look, Hannah Waddingham in Marchesa, and Jenna Ortega in Dior, opted for intricately embellished gowns in gentle shades of green.
