What is your vision for AIGNER?
One thing I do not like is stagnation. Fashion in itself is ever-changing and constantly evolving, and we want to be part of that Zeitgeist while staying true to the brand and our philosophy, which is why I also try to evolve and grow our collections. In the future, the vision is to be present in more regions so we can be a love-brand for even more people.
Who is the AIGNER woman/man? Who are you designing for?
There is no focus on a specific woman or man, as we can and want to inspire all kinds of personalities with our product range. It is important to us to ignite passion in our customers for our designs through our quality and love for our products. Our customers expect and deserve a high level of satisfaction, and we want to offer styles that emphasize this.
How significant is the Middle Eastern market for AIGNER?
We highly appreciate having been established in the Middle East for 39 years now and always try to honor our strong roots with the Middle East community to show our appreciation and deep connection.
Can you please walk us through the AIGNER Spring/Summer 2024 collection? What inspired it?
The artists’ movement’ Arts and Crafts’ is concerned with a return to craftsmanship and tradition and was a counter-movement to mass production. These themes are also significant to us, so the topic was ‘A Perfect Match.’ I discovered the ‘Honeysuckle’ print by William Morris in the archives of the Metropolitan Museum and was immediately inspired. So, the Spring/Summer 2024 collection is a reminiscence of the art of craftsmanship and more creative designs while still including exciting, luxurious mixes of materials.
According to you, what are some of the key AIGNER pieces that belong in every wardrobe?
Definitely, our ‘CYBILL’ Bag is the most iconic piece of AIGNER. The classy and luxurious design is inspired by strong and independent women and has been an integral part of each collection since 2012. Completely handmade in Italy, the ‘CYBILL’ Bag combines elaborate craftsmanship, timeless design, and high-quality materials.
What materials do you primarily work with? How important is sustainability when it comes to manufacturing AIGNER bags/accessories?
Our primary material is high-quality leather, and we fulfill all requirements of the supply chain law. The topic of sustainability is extremely important to us, which is why we have been part of the Leather Working Group for years. The LWG is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting responsible and eco-friendly leather sourcing. All of our other materials are recyclable.
