Discover Sandra Mansour’s Fall ’18 collection

The Lebanese designer held a preview during PFW
With the release of her new F/W'18 collection, Sandra Mansour has given us another reason to fall in love with her designs...

Sandra Mansour is a name that has been popping up our radar continuously over the past few months and she has grown to become a firm favourite amongst local and international fashion enthusiasts.

Synonymous with exceptionally beautiful, ethereal gowns with a strong dose of femininity, Sandra (who was named as the Middle Eastern representative for the Buro Fashion Forward Initiative in 2017) has had a great year so far.

First, Gigi Hadid was spotted wearing pieces from her label and Sandra exclusively spoke to Buro 24/7 Middle East about Hadid’s ensemble. This was followed by Sandra taking over Paris Fashion Week where she unveiled her beautiful Fall/Winter ’18 collection.

Titled “Auroral Savanna”, the new autumnal collection was inspired by French conceptual artist Laurent Grasso “[who is] known for his multidisciplinary work and portrayal of very still like landscapes with the use of powerful light to bring his art to life,” Sandra explained.

Exclusively speaking to Buro 24/7 Middle East, Sandra then explained her inspirations behind the collection in detail: “This collection was inspired by contradictory elements, portrayed through the use of soft and delicate fabrics, mixed with more structured and bold ones. We tried to tell the story with the backdrop of the Northern Lights in an arid and dry Sahara-like land.”

Completed in a palette of bright hues and bold prints in free-flowing silhouettes, the collection is prettily punctuated by ’80’s shoulders, metallics, monochrome prints and stripes. Velvet, silk, tulle, lace and embroidery make an appearance, too.

What’s the most standout piece in the collection? Whilst there’s many beautiful ensembles to choose from, Sandra says it’s “the Aurore de Verre dress. It is a hand embroidered drawing on tulle dress signifying the Pearl Sky phenomenon; the dress feels as though it is Venus emerging from both the sky and the water.”
