Over the years, Balenciaga has earned itself a reputation for selling some of the most controversial items. From its ‘Trash Bag’ pouch and ‘Destroyed Sneakers,’ both of which come with a hefty price tag in the ballpark of AED7000, no less, to the meme-fest sparking ‘Towel Skirt,’ which retailed for AED3400, Balenciaga is infamous for introducing some of the most absurd items. After the release of the ‘Towel Skirt,’ which was essentially err.. a towel, one might think that even Balenciaga can’t outdo themselves. But they somehow have.
As part of its Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Balenciaga has released a tape bracelet, which is a roll of tape. Titled the Balenciaga ‘Gaffer’ Bangle, the accessory resembles a roll of tape. Stamped with the Balenciaga logo on the inside, the Balenciaga tape bracelet has sent the internet into a frenzy, reminding people of wearing a tape roll on their arms while packing boxes while moving or other jobs that require the adhesive.
While the item is not currently listed on the brand’s website, fashion aficionados are anticipating an eye-popping price for the Balenciaga tape bracelet.
