Dior Homme taps Raymond Pettibon for its latest accessories collection

A fine art tribute
The french maison’s artistic director Kim Jones teams up with esteemed American punk-era visual artist for F/W 2020...

Since taking over the reigns of Dior Homme, Kim Jones has managed to successfully merge the luxury and streetwear worlds together, injecting his futuristic cool factor to the menswear line with collaborations with artists like KAWS and Hajime Soriyama.

In his latest collection for Dior, Jones trudges ahead with his modern cool boy aesthetic tapping esteemed visual artist, Raymond Pettibon, to create a line of accessories for the F/W 2020 collection.

The collaboration, a tribute to art — Christian Dior’s primary passion — sees Pettibon, a seminal figure in the 70’s punk scene known for his artwork for post punk bands like Black Flag and Sonic Youth, reimagine an exclusive white leopard motif inspired by the very print the founding monsieur was very fond of.

In Dior Oblique canvas, the classic house code that Kim Jones revisits though the prism of art, popular favourites such as the Saddle bag and Roller bag get revamped for fall in the new and magnetic Pettibon leopard motif. Other art-souvenir pieces from the collaboration include the B23 sneakers, two Saddle mini backpack key rings in grained calfskin as well as emblematic rings in gold-tone brass and black resin.
