CHARLES LECLERC (FINALLY) CLINCHED A HOME WIN
Charles Leclerc, the local hero, finally triumphed at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, securing a historic victory in front of his home fans. The race began with early chaos as a massive collision between Sergio Perez’s Red Bull and the Haas cars of Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg brought out red flags before the first lap was even completed. After the restart, Leclerc led cleanly.
Despite the strategic uncertainties and intense pressure, Leclerc maintained his composure, steering his Ferrari to his first win on Monte Carlo’s track and ending a 39-race winless streak. This historic triumph, the first by a Monegasque driver in the world championship era, is a testament to Leclerc’s skill and determination and a moment that will be etched in the annals of Formula 1 history. Sharing the podium with Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz, Leclerc’s win also marked Ferrari’s 10th triumph in Monaco.
