Whether it's a monetary donation, volunteering your time, or simply spreading the word, every little bit counts in this massive effort to provide aid where it's needed most.

In response to the escalating violence in Lebanon, the UAE has launched a nationwide donation drive, mobilizing resources and the public to deliver much-needed relief. The call to action is clear: the people of Lebanon are in dire need, and the UAE is committed to offering support in every possible way.

Following Israel’s air strikes and invasion, His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan directed an initial $100 million in aid to support the people of Lebanon, with an additional $30 million allocated for displaced Lebanese citizens who have fled to Syria. To date, six planes carrying over 205 tonnes of essential aid have been dispatched to the region, providing critical relief to civilians caught in the crossfire.

Now, the UAE government is calling upon its citizens and residents to lend a helping hand. This weekend, Dubai and Abu Dhabi will host two major donation and aid-packing events as part of the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign, giving residents a chance to make a tangible difference. The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Affairs Council laid out the details on Monday, outlining how individuals, businesses, and community groups can contribute. From donating funds to sending essentials like clothing, food, and hygiene products, the avenues for support are wide open.

For those looking to get involved, here’s what you need to know: on Saturday, October 12, head to the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City between 9 am and 1 pm to participate in the packing and collection drive. If you’re in the capital, the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal at Abu Dhabi Ports will host a similar event on Sunday, October 13, during the same hours. Volunteers from all walks of life are expected to come together, united by a common cause — to bring relief to those suffering from the ongoing conflict.

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has also streamlined the donation process. Financial contributions can be madethrough banks associated with the ERC, or directly via their website or mobile app. For those who prefer hands-on assistance, you can drop off donations at ERC warehouses across the UAE, including the Musaffah area in Abu Dhabi and at Dubai Humanitarian’s response depot.
