Gazan journalist Plestia Alaqad is stepping into a new role. She’s set to make her acting debut in The Visitor, a Palestinian horror film by Rolla Selbak, produced by Watermelon Pictures. The film reimagines folklore through a psychological lens, following a Jerusalem family haunted by a ghouleh, a mythic demon symbolizing generational trauma and silenced fear. With filming set to begin in Jordan in 2026, The Visitor signals a new direction for Palestinian cinema and for Alaqad.
