Prada Mode returned for its eleventh edition, bringing a mesmerizing blend of art, music, and cultural discourse to Abu Dhabi’s MiZa neighborhood on February 11-12, 2025. The event marked Prada’s third collaboration with the visionary Theaster Gates, transforming the space into a striking duality of tradition and modernity.
MiZa’s architectural marvel featured a circular structure within a square, creating an immersive realm where history met contemporary expression. Curated by Myrna Ayad, the program highlighted the brilliance of Arab women through thought-provoking conversations, performances, and hands-on experiences.
Day one kicked off with insightful discussions on tradition’s role in modern creativity and the complexities of urban development. Guests engaged in an Al-Sadu weaving workshop, an ancient Bedouin textile art. The evening unfolded with a captivating violin performance by Nancy Mounir, followed by an electrifying DJ set by Yas Meen Selectress and a vibrant party featuring Seera and Nooriyah.
On day two, conversations delved into the power of matriarchs and the body as an artistic medium. Poetry by Afra Atiq and a spellbinding musical fusion from Noura Mint Seymali x Aïta Mon Amour enchanted audiences. As night fell, DJ Deena Abdelwahed and Nour kept the energy soaring.
Prada Mode Abu Dhabi opens its doors to the public on February 13 & 14, promising more inspiration and artistic wonder.
