So, whether you’re looking to jam out with friends or chill this week-end, hit play and let the music take over. Get ready to be transported to a whole new world of sound and enjoy the ride.
Carl Gerges isn’t just an architect, he’s a full-on atmosphere creator. Born in 1987 and living between Beirut, Dubai, and Paris, he designs spaces the way a musician composes a track: with rhythm, emotion, and a touch of magic. A graduate of the American University of Beirut, Carl champions a lifestyle rooted in nature and mindful living, where interiors, landscapes, and surroundings flow in perfect harmony. His projects don’t just look good, they transform their environment and set a mood you wish you could bottle.
Before his studio lit up the design world, Carl was already taking center stage, literally. As a former member of iconic indie rock band Mashrou’ Leila, he developed a taste for the sweet intersection where music, travel, and art collide. Touring the globe and performing in cultural landmarks like Le Grand Palais and L’Olympia in Paris, The Met in New York, Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech, and Baalbek in Lebanon sparked his love for scenography. That’s why his spaces today often feel like beautifully lit stages waiting for life to happen.
In 2020, he launched Carl Gerges Architects, and the world took notice, fast. Think: Architectural Digest’s Best Hospitality Project (2022), AD France’s Top 100 Contemporary Decorators (2021), GQ’s Man of the Year (2022), Identity’s Best Residential Project in Dubai (2021), and ArchDaily’s Best Young Practices (2020). In short: the man’s collecting awards the way some collect boarding passes.
Carl designs with soul, a sensitivity to human behavior, nature, and the subtle emotional power of space. Everything he imagines is immersive, intentional, and effortlessly poetic.
And because his world doesn’t stop at architecture, today’s BURO Playlist is curated by none other than Carl Gerges himself, expect soundscapes just as transportive as his spaces.
