There’s been a slew of celebrities entering the beauty game as of late — think Victoria Beckham with her sustainable brand, Lady Gaga with Haus Laboratories and Kylie Jenner with the launch of Kylie Skin.
Now, it looks like Tom Ford is competing for a spot in your beauty cupboards as the eponymous label has just announced the expansion of its beauty empire with its very own skincare line.
Tom Ford Beauty will now be introducing a new arm to its business, Tom Ford Research, which will consist of high-end skincare products with Estée Lauder — the cosmetics giant that already owns Tom Ford Beauty.
According to WWD, the designer explained: “I wanted to start a serious skin-care arm and have it be science-based. This is a real skin-care product and regimen. I’m not a designer who has thrown his name on a beautifully packaged cream.”
So what can we expect from the debut collection set to make its global release in September?
For the last three years, Ford has been working with a team of scientists to help him produce his first two skin care products: a serum concentrate and a crème concentrate. After the initial launch, the designer also has plans to release three more products, including eye cream, in March.
