If you’re skincare obsessed, there’s a high chance you’ll have at least one La Mer product in your line-up. The French beauty brand boasts one of the skincare world’s most iconic products — Crème de la Mer, which is made from fermented sea kelp, citrus and eucalyptus oils and is used daily by Jennifer Lopez — as well as a whole host of other covetable offerings and now, it’s just reached a huge milestone.
According to WWD, the brand (which is owned by Estée Lauder) is now a billion dollar company.
Fabrizio Freda, Estée Lauder’s President and CEO, told the site, “La Mer became the fourth brand in our portfolio to contribute well over USD $1 billion in net sales.” He added that the company’s other brands, including MAC and Clinique, also increased their sales in the last twelve months, furthering proving that beauty is big business.
